A light rain drizzled as people started to arrive at the homecoming dance, but that did not stop the students on the inside from enjoying their night. Students expressed every type of dance to the roaring music.
The night progressed and it came time for the students to witness the crowning of their Homecoming King. After much anticipation, it was finally announced that Kody Kolina had been pronounced King! He and the Queen, Alyssa Dasca, were given the floor to have a slow dance to themselves as all eyes gazed upon them.
Suddenly, the tempo of the music changed from a slow melody to a dub-step like rhythm building up with a crescendo and then a beat-drop. The crowd began to cheer and the rambunctious dancing continued. Some dance circles were formed and a few mustered up the courage to show off their skills.
Although many students were enjoying the music, there were some students who dispersed to the side due to the small variety of music being played. The DJ played with very few request being taken. One student had said, “The selection [of music] was okay, but was hard to dance to.” Another student commented on the entirety of the dance saying, “This dance was better than last years, except for the DJ.”
Over all the CMHS students and guests said they had a blast and felt like 2012’s homecoming was a success.
