Their first stop before settling at the hotel was Stanford University. Students took a tour through the busy campus trying to avoid all the bike riders! After their visit on the campus, they headed to San Francisco where they had dinner at Pier 39.
Freshmen Camryn Carter states, “I think my favorite part of the trip was seeing Stanford because it really made me want to go there, and I’m super excited to be able to apply and hopefully get in.”
The first thing students did the second day of the trip was take a very chilly walk across the entire Golden Gate Bridge. Later, they spent a few hours at the Exploratorium, “a hands-on museum of science, art, and human perception.” Students then had lunch at Chinatown along with some shopping time and a cable car ride back to the hotel. To end their long day, students enjoyed some dessert at Ghirardelli Square.
Freshmen Walter Rodriguez says his favorite part was “Chinatown because food!”
The third and final day of the trip, students took a BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) to UC Berkeley and later headed back to the bus for a long ride home.
Disregarding the long walks and cold weather, students had a fulfilling trip.
Freshmen Christian Pham says, “my favorite part was the trip in general, it was just that much fun. So a tip for the 8th graders next year: you should go!”
