Q: What made you choose wrestling?
A: It seemed really interesting and it was available. My assistant coach Rex Raneri (CMHS Alumni and CIF Wrestler) got me into it.
Q: How do you feel about your season so far this year?
A: Pretty good, we improved a lot from last year, and have gotten a lot better. Last year we were 0-0 and now we actually have wins on the board.
Q: Was the journey this far difficult?
A: Yes definitely. We worked a lot through the summer, constant working and practicing. A lot of dedication and fundraising went into it.
A: A lot of training, and a lot of practice. I had to leave it all on the mat when I was wrestling. I had to use smart wrestling as well.
Q: What is required to qualify for CIF in wrestling?
A: You must get at least fourth in league to qualify for CIF. I am currently third in our league.
Q: How do you expect to do in CIF?
A: I am hoping to do well, we’re going to go practice and train with Newport Harbor (Division 1) so hopefully I can learn some good tips and tricks from their coaches and players, anything that could help me for CIF.
Q: Are you nervous to compete?
A: Not really, I’ve trained long and hard to make to this point, I think I’m ready.
Q: What is your goal for this last tournament of the season?
A: I want to make it as far as possible, hopefully to quarters, maybe even semi-finals. It would be great to take it all, but no matter what happens, I know Ill have a chance next year as well.
