There was a variety of performances, and not two performances were similar. The show opened up with a dance to “MIB” from Men in Black by the JV dance team. After, the varsity team performed to “Up with End Credits” from Up.
Varsity didn’t get more songs or more attention in the show than the JV team. Both Varsity and JV had individual and combined performances. All of the girls had very cute and creative outfits tailored to the performance song. Mrs. Kaska also didn’t choreograph all the dances. Some of the students choreographed routines as well. All of the dances were correlated to a movie and it made the show even better. Specifically, the number "The Circle of Life" was really successful because of the shadows. A sun was projected and the dance moves went perfectly with the rhythm and feel for the song.
After the May 9th show, I talked to Mrs. Kaska about how she thought the night played out.
“We’ve been practicing for three months and there’s always hitches. It went really well and the girls fun, which it is all about.”
Mrs. Kaska is building a great program through innovative thinking and hard work.
