But forget that: You’re here to learn about the food and the drinks. It’s time to hop off the Starbucks bandwagon and try some real, authentic, organic blends of coffee and chocolate at ChocXO. It is clear these people take pride in their handcrafted chocolates made from their factory in Irvine, as well as their rich coffee taste.
All of their items seem to be sweet but balanced, including the delicious pastries on display, my favorite being the Big Ol’ Cookie. For the price of three dollars, it’s like an oversized Oreo, but soft and chewy with a thin layer of cream between the two layers. ChocXO is surely more expensive than Starbucks (and people think Starbucks is expensive enough!), but the quality makes it worth the money. If you like the chocolates enough, they have elegant gift boxes of chocolates available for purchase.
If you are unsure whether you will like a certain item or not, have no fear, samples are here. You don’t have to go all the way to Costco for free samples; ChocXO offers samples for both frappés and handcrafted chocolates. Overall, ChocXO has a friendly, knowledgeable staff, quality drinks, scrumptious pastries, and a laidback atmosphere that I would surely recommend others to be apart of.
