To start off the new school year the CMHS drama has decided to begin its productions with a play called, “Done to Death.” Auditions for this play were held on both Tuesday the 16th and Wednesday the 17th, in one of the new rooms near the middle school enclave. A great amount of students arrived early full of excitement to see what Mrs. Paladino had in store for them.
As the students gathered inside, each one picking up an informational packet, Mrs. Paladino gave a brief explanation of the play, without revealing the ending of course.
Maya Lee-Lopez said that she has always had a love for the theatre and is planning on even majoring in it. Speaking about the excitement of the new theatre, Maya said she feels that it is an honor to be a senior and to leave her mark on the new theatre. Maya then explained to me that although she may have performed in many plays she still has the same fears as everyone else-- she still gets stage fright, she does not let this get to her and she encourages others to join future productions.
Student Jacob Wrubel said that it was his first time auditioning for a school production. He said that he thought comedic mysteries were quite interesting. He also shares in the excitement for the new theatre. He believes it will be fun and exciting to be able to perform in the new theatre. As for Jacobs’s fellow students out there who maybe a bit scared to join a play, he says to “join it because you won’t regret it!”
