Brennan, a prodigious forensic anthropologist with an almost scary level of intellect, identifies unrecognizable remains in coalition with her team of “Squints.” Booth is her charming other half and moral compass. The dynamic duo has been solving gruesome murders for the past seven seasons, and is now entering their eighth. The show lightens the otherwise serious mood by throwing in hilarious characters and an addictive romance between Booth and Brennan.
Season eight starts just about where season seven left off. Temperance, with her long-absent father and newborn daughter, is on the run from the FBI after being framed by Christopher Pelant (Andrew Leeds), a cybercriminal. However, Booth and the Squints are quick to clear her name and the show continues solving crime as it has in the past seven seasons.
There has been some speculation regarding whether or not the Emmy-nominated show will venture on to season nine due to enigmatic tweets made by David Boreanaz.
“Let’s put this in sports terms. I’m a free agent after this season. So the Bones fair well tour is in full swing,” he tweets.
The creator of the show, Hart Hanson, is quick to rebuff these implications, “…we’re very, very confident in having at least a Season 9.” (As quoted on huffingtonpost.com)
He went on to say that the Bones star could be alluding to his ending contract. Bones fans can rest assured; there are no known plans of termination.
