Currently a new obsession, Sherlock is the modern version of the story of the detective Sherlock Holmes (Benedict Cumberbatch) and Dr. John Watson (Martin Freeman). As consultants to the police, Holmes and Watson find themselves delving into mysterious cases that cannot be solved by those who "see but do not observe". With his quick mind, Holmes observes his environment and unlocks secrets to cases that are only "obvious" to him. The humor is quick-witted and the crimes keep the audience involved. This is definitely a great choice for those who can concentrate and like to play a guessing game.
Greendale Community College is just an average school with average students having average school days. Ha...ha...no. Greendale is just the opposite of average with the study group of Abed (Danny Pudi), Troy (Donald Glover), Britta (Gillian Jacobs), Annie (Alison Brie), Jeff (Joel McHale), Pierce (Chevy Chase), and Shirley (Yvette Nicole Brown). They get into weird situations that end in pillow forts that connect the school, full-force paintball wars, and a lot of student rioting. Add in a psychopathic security officer and an irresponsible dean, and you have a Community.
3. Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni (When They Cry)
For those that are more into the world of anime, I did not want to leave you out. Higurashi tells the story of six kids in the town of Hinamizawa. Keiichi has just moved here and has made friends with a few girls at his school. Over the course of time, something seems to be amiss. A lynching years before tips him off to things not being so cute anymore. The story becomes very complex and is great for someone looking to guess for a while. The art style is not for everyone, but the story makes up for it. Plus, Rena Ryuugu's creepy laugh will have you rocking yourself to sleep every night.
"Have you met Ted?" "Lawyered!" "Legen-wait-for-it-dary." These are just a few of the sayings the characters of this show have as running jokes. The show is centered around Ted Moseby (Josh Radnor) and his friends such as Marshall Eriksen (Jason Segel) and Barney Stinson (Neil Patrick Harris). The setting is the land of New York City where Ted is retelling the story of how he met his wife to his children. The story takes a long time with multiple seasons. The kids in the recordings are actually not that age anymore as they can be seen in other shows. It is a really cute and funny show with random musical numbers and jokes that never get old.
5. The Bachelor[ette]
Do yourself a favor and just go watch this. Now. It is the most hilarious thing to watch 25 girls/guys fight over one person. Now when some of these people are absolute psychopaths, it makes for interesting interactions that include a lot of yelling. For those of you that don't feel like making fun of it, it really is a cute show with dating and amazing places all over the world. But honestly, it is ridiculous how these people find their "soul-mates" like this. Anything that only takes about three months does not seem like it would last forever.
