The theme chosen for this year was Willy Wonka and each float was to show one of the children that were able to enter the factory.
The freshman float was for Augustus Gloop, who did not listen to Wonka's directions and drank from the chocolate river, causing him to fall into it. Adam JeyaRajah was chosen to portray Augustus. Others dressed up as “oompa-loompas”, donning purple shirts, black bottoms, green bows and bow ties, and white duct tape suspenders.
"I thought it went pretty well. They put time into the dances and it came out good," freshman Melissa Folkerts said.
The sophomore float was themed Violet Beauregarde, who also ignored Wonka's directions and turned the color of her name after chewing special gum. In this float, Geoff Fulkerson portrayed Violet, wearing a full body blue jumpsuit. Other sophomores dressed up in orange shirts, white shorts, black socks, and white ribbons for girls.
Ellie Aguilar said, "The sophomore float was great. One of the best ones. I really liked their choreography and choice of music."
The juniors were assigned Veruca Salt, the girl representative of greed. While fantasizing about what she could have, she found herself deemed a “bad egg” by one of Wonka's machines that dropped her down a chute and into the garbage disposal. She was played by Molly Settles. Juniors' uniforms consisted of purple shirts, black shorts, and bows in some of the guys' hair.
A freshman who was at the game said, "I think they [the juniors] did an awesome job."
The senior float was for Mike Teevee who wanted to be on television. In the movie, he ended up transporting himself into one, shrinking in the process. He was played by Kory Bennion. Those who had uniforms were wearing brown shirts, while others were dressed up as Oompa Loompas, with brown shirts, suspenders, orange skin, and green hair.
The seniors received some criticism. One student said, "I thought it was boring and slow. The freshmen beat the seniors."
